ID Tips: Trua is one of the easiest orcas to ID, mostly because he’s basically COVERED with freckles!! He has a freckle in both his left and right eyepatches, he has two freckles on the left side of his jaw, and his belly has multiple freckles on it. Trua’s dorsal doesn’t bend at all (yet) and he has a small notch/chip on the left side of his flukes. Trua is also larger than the other babies (Nalani, Malia, and Makaio) So if the babies are all out together, he’ll be the biggest one.

D.o.B: November 23, 2005
Parents: Taku (father) and Takara (Mother)
His Story: Trua was born on November 23, 2005 at 10:22 p.m. to Takara, making him her second calf. When he was born he was 7 feet long and weighed 350lbs. Trua was named in March of 2006, and his name, which means believe in Icelandic, was given to him in honor of the Believe show, which opened later that year in spring. Trua is a cute little boy, and is very interactive with guests! He loves to play with his trainers, guests, and the other younger orcas, Makaio, Nalani, and Malia. Trua also loves to play with his food! You’ll catch him in underwater viewing, and he’ll have a fish bone that he sucks up and spits out at you. Plus, Trua is the only orca that has belly freckles. He also enjoys spending time with his grandfather, Tilikum (or Tilly) and he is the only orca Tilly enjoys having as company. Sometimes, Tilly and Trua will perform together. Trua had just started learning waterworks when the trainers temporarily stopped doing waterworks in 2010. Today Trua is 6 years old and lives at SeaWorld Orlando.
